The name Défions Arms is derived from the Green Beret slogan of “Nous Défions” or “We Defy”. The term was used by World War II French resistance movements. It was adopted by OSS elements that worked with them, then carried over to the Special Forces when it was formed out of the OSS. Naturally, we at Défions Arms carry this mantra with us forward. We want to defy the norm. We want you to have the best firearms possible. We do not accept assembly line quality or mass-produced quality. We Defy the narrative of the anti-gun movements and want to ensure that patriots and citizens are armed with the best firearms possible, whether for sport or for protection.
As a Retired Veteran and an avid competitor in the shooting sports of USPSA and 3Gun, I have owned many firearms in my time as a Competitor and an Operator. Over the span of the previous 20 years, I have almost exclusively built my own firearms, or bought guns that I then needed to spend a lot of time on to make them up to my standards for competition. I prided myself on self-study and learning as much about firearms as possible until I finally decided to attend college to become a Gunsmith. Initially this was just to make me smarter on my own builds for my own competitive edge, but I quickly found that the passion of the firearms industry and my goals for career were in firearms. Défions Arms, gunsmithing and shooting matches are my career, but it’s also the most enjoyable thing I could imagine doing!

Our Primary focus is on the custom 1911 and custom 2011 style pistols, but we strive to provide the best gunsmithing services possible for other firearms as well if there is room in the queue.
